What can my manager see?

Your manager sees the team added together, plus your level on the AI check. Never your answers and never your words.

This is the question most people ask first, so here is the plain answer.

Your words are yours. Nothing you type is ever put in front of your manager with your name on it. Your write-up is yours too. No manager, admin or colleague can open it.

One thing about you does show up by name. It is your level on the AI check, and the next section says exactly what that means.

Your level on the AI check

If your company runs the AI literacy check, it gives you a level and a short read on each part it asks about: how you work with these tools, and how you handle what they get wrong. Your manager and your company admins can see that level and those reads next to your name, on a page called Levels by person. Your manager is whoever your company’s HR system or people list names as your manager. Anyone above them in that chain sees it too. A manager sees only the people who report to them.

This is a change. Until August 2026 a manager saw nothing at all about one named person. Managers asked for the level because deciding who needs help with what is their job, and a chart of the whole company does not tell them who to sit down with.

The level comes from a fixed rubric, not from a model’s opinion about you. The rubric is published, so you can ask why you landed where you did and get an answer you can argue with. If one of your company’s rules held your level at L2, your manager sees that a rule did. Which rule, and what you picked, is only on your own write-up.

They do not see it the moment you finish. Your company sends everyone’s results together, and until an admin presses Send results on the round, your manager and your admins see that you finished and nothing about how you did. Their page reads Level held beside your name.

They do not see the company’s figures for that round either, for the same reason: a chart that moves each time one more person finishes would give away that person’s result. Everything opens at the one press, and you get your own report at that same press, so nobody reads your level before you do.

Flow tells you this on screen before you answer the first question of that check.

What a manager still does not get, on this check or any other: what you typed, or a sentence of yours quoted with your name on it. There is no setting an admin can switch on to reach any of that.

The optional example you can type under each tapped question is not part of this. It goes on your own write-up and nowhere else. Leaving it blank does not change your level, and filling it in does not show your manager anything more.

Everything else is the team added together

For every other question, and for every other assessment, what a manager reads is the team added together. Everyone’s answers are blurred into the group. Managers get the shape of the team’s work, not who said what.

If all of your team chose an answer, or none of you did, your manager does not see that figure. That covers your company’s AI rules, how often your team puts work information into AI tools that aren’t approved, how your team gets its work done, and survey questions. Seeing “all of them” or “none of them” would tell them how each of you answered. Your level still reaches your manager, and on a round that asked about your rules, a level of L3 or above means you chose every rule you were asked about.

The five-person floor

Anything built from individual answers is held to a five-person floor. The survey questions people tap through, how a team feels, and anything anyone typed in their own words belong in this group. Flow never shows any of these for a group smaller than five people. So a single reply cannot be traced back to you.

Can that number change?

No. Five is the same five for every company. There is no setting for it anywhere in Flow, so your admin cannot raise it and your manager cannot lower it. Neither can we.

The completion record

For the AI literacy check, an admin can also download a record of who received it and who completed it, but not what anyone answered. See the completion evidence export for exactly what is in that file. See what happens to your data for the wider picture.
