Your write-up

What you get when you finish, where it is saved, and who can open the link.

When you finish an assessment, Flow builds you a write-up. Every assessment gets one. What is in it depends on which assessment you took.

Your write-up does not open the moment you finish. Your company sends everyone’s results together, so it opens when an admin presses Send results on the round. See waiting for results.

What is in it

The report is yours alone. A survey’s write-up is a plain list of what you answered. A Know Your AI write-up is described below.

A Know Your AI write-up

It reads in this order:

  1. Your level, the four rungs from L1 Aware to L4 Expert, with the arithmetic that produced it. If you took Know Your AI at this company before, a line under the level names the level you had last round and the one you have now. Under that, your read on each part: one line for each thing the assessment asked you about. Where you typed an example under a tapped question, your example is printed on that line, in your own words.
  2. What you answered about your company’s rules: each situation and the option you picked, in the words you saw.
  3. Your guide: a few lines about AI in your own job, built from your role, the tools you picked or named yourself, and the ground rules your company set.
  4. Your policy commitments: each rule a situation asked you about, and whether your answer matched it. Your admins see one number per rule, across everyone. They never see your answer.

How your level is worked out

Your level comes from a fixed table that anyone can check. No model decides it. Each answer earns points, and your level is the share of the points you could have earned.

  • Each of the four skills questions earns 0 to 3 points. The strongest answer earns 3, and “none” earns 0.
  • Each situation earns 3 points if you picked what your company’s rule says, 1 if you said you weren’t sure, and 0 if you picked something else.

The share sets the level: under 35% is L1, 35 to 64% is L2, 65 to 84% is L3, and 85% or more is L4.

There is one more rule. L3 and L4 need your company’s rule picked in every situation you were asked. If you picked something else, or said you weren’t sure, your level stops at L2. Your write-up names the situation.

With all four situations asked, the levels look like this:

  • L4: every rule followed, and most of the skill points. For example, you use AI most days, tell it what it is missing, have built something of your own, and show people when they ask.
  • L3: every rule followed, and some skill points. For example, you use AI for some tasks each week, ask again in other words, reuse a prompt someone else made, and have ways that work for you.
  • L2: every rule followed but little use of AI, or strong skills with one rule missed or not known.
  • L1: 8 points or fewer. Most situations answered against the rule or not known, and few skill points to offset it.

If your company has no AI rules yet, you get no situations, and your level comes from the four skills questions alone.

A write-up from an earlier round of Know Your AI that ended with a typed conversation has two more parts. Flow has dropped that conversation, so newer write-ups don’t have them. After your level comes a short read-back of what you said in the conversation, cleaned up. And last comes What your company asks here: the one line the conversation ended on, and the rule from your company’s own policy that it quotes. It counts for nothing in your level.

That last part is not always there. It needs your company to have approved rules, and it needs the assessment to have produced a line that quotes one of them word for word. So it is missing if your company has approved nothing yet, if the line could not be written, if nothing it wrote quoted a rule exactly, or if your rules are too short to quote (under about four words).

The line about last round is only there when you finished the round before this one at this company. If this is your first Know Your AI here, there is no line. Nor is there one if the round before ran without the judgement that grades it, because that round has no level to name. The two levels are scored on the same scale, so they compare, but the situations the assessment asks you about change between rounds. The line says so.

Your manager sees how many people moved up, counted over everyone who answered both rounds. That total says nothing about which of them moved. They can open the results for an earlier round and read the level you had then, the same level this line shows you. Nothing about you is on their screen that is not on yours.

Leaving an example blank changes nothing about your level. It does not tell you whether your answers were right, either. Your manager and your company admins can see your level and the reads behind it. They never see your words, your examples or your transcript. See what can my manager see?.

Waiting for results

A write-up is held until your company sends the round’s results. While it is held:

  • Assessments and Write-ups show the run as Waiting for results. The row does not open.
  • No email has been sent yet.
  • The link does not open for anyone, you included, signed in or not. It reads This link is not valid.
  • Your managers and your company’s admins see that you finished and nothing about how you did.

When an admin presses Send results on the round, everyone who finished gets an email with their own link at that moment. If you finish after that press, you get yours straight away.

A round’s results go out once, and they cannot be taken back.

Where it is saved

Your write-up is saved to your inbox and lives at a link. It does not disappear when you close the tab. You can reread it whenever you want.

It stays with the company you took the assessment at. If two companies added you, Write-ups lists both, each under its company name. See if you work in more than one company.

Tools you are listed as owning

Under your write-ups there may be a short list of tools. It is there when your company’s tools list names your work address as a tool’s business owner or tech owner.

It shows the tool and which of the two you are, and nothing else. Your company admin sees the same fact about you on their Tools page, which is why you see it too: nobody sees more about you than you do.

If a tool on the list is not yours, ask an admin to change it. See who can see and do what.

The link is yours to forward if you choose. It works for anyone who holds it for two days from when your company sent the results, or from when the write-up was made if you finished after that send. After that it needs your own sign-in, and only you can open it. An old link still works: it asks you to sign in, then opens the write-up it pointed at. See how to sign in.

No Velory staff or company backdoor opens your individual write-up. What an admin or a manager sees is the team added together. See what can my manager see?.
